ugh
welp the holidays are over and now its back to work. I hate my job or one of them anyway becasue i babysit highschool kids and you know when i complain about how these kids behave people just tell me that well you were once a teenager.
YES i was, however, i was not a rich snobby teenager who got whatever i wanted and waited on hand and foot like these kids are when they go home. they expect us to be their slaves and cater to their every need. I dont give them any slack and they hate me because i dont let them get away with anything.
windy cold days
ok why in the freakin’ world do ppl think that when there is ice on the road its ok to go the speed limit or faster??? i swear i was almost in an accident had it not been for my excellent driving skills and for it being extremely easy to put my car in to a drift slide on ice. i prolly wouldnt have a car right now becuse the jerk in this pick-up was going too fast, and intead on just downshifting into a lower gear he slammed on his breaks and started sliding even though he missed me. He slammed into the light pole in the parking lot. i pulled into a parking stall and got out to see if the guy was ok he was, however, he wont be opening his passenger side door anytime soon.
Observation of personalities…
As I was working last night I realized I am NOT a ‘bar-person’. I question if I am even a ‘waitress person’. In just four hours I saw pretty much every kind of personality. The two types that REALLY get under my skin and tick me off or these:
There are the better-than-you types…they are the ones who come in and act like they never have met you before in their lives….OH, PULEEEZ! This is Cimarron!! The better-than-you types will find that piece of lint on their pant leg of total importance and pick at it for an hour rather than make eye contact and risk having to exchange pleasantries.
Then we have the no-basic-human-qualities type who think their crude, sexist, pornographic remarks are smart and witty.
Yeah, I love my job. And if you buy that one, you interested in a bridge I’m selling–located in Brooklyn?
IMPOTENT FURY!!!!!!
One of the best definitions of “impotent fury” is as follows…
I work at a job that is based on service to the public…they come in, order food, eat it and leave, I clean up their friggin’ mess. I don’t sit on my fat ass, drinking beer and put off taking an order or leave their food sit til it’s cold before I get it to their table. How long would I have my job if that IS how I did my job? My payday was last Saturday, Oct. 15th. Today is Oct. 20th and guess what!? I still haven’t gotten my friggin’ paycheck!!!! I can’t say the bossman is sooooo busy…I mean last night he had time to sit in the bar and get totally blitzed. To me, that is a slap in the face, to go in hoping to get my paycheck (already 5 days late) and hear that he isn’t back with the checks cuz he spent the night at the bar cuz he was too drunk to drive back to Dodge. As upset with this situation as I am, at least I do make tips and have cash in my pocket when my shift is done. People in the kitchen, they are just working without any pay at all. I was able to go to savings and pay my electric bill on time…today…what are some of those people doing? But, jobs in Cimarron are hard to find with all the businesses closing. So, you just bend over take one for the ole team in hopes that all the late fees don’t drown you. If it wasn’t for Duane’s job I’d have to drive to Dodge for a minimum wage job and spend the saved money of late fees on gasoline. It’s a friggin’ no win situation…IMPOTENT FURY!!!!

If you remember from a past blog, my husband’s boss uses his employees to do all of his personal CRAP! Last week, Bryan had to clean up his basement because the sewer had backed up. The day before that, he had to clean up the boss’s son’s throw up!
So anyways, Bryan comes home last night and says, “Tomorrow is Cori’s (the boss) birthday. Everyone is putting money in to get him something.” My first reaction, NO! He told me that, well everyone is giving some so I’ll look like an ass not giving anything. So I undersood that I guess.
“Give $5.” I tell him.
“Well everyone else is giving $35!”
AAHHH! This is total madness! Everyone giving the boss money, the man who has over 200 GRAND in his checking account. Am I on some alternate universe where NONE of this makes sense?! This man makes my husband clean up his SHIT… literally!! He mops up his sewer water and now wants a GIFT from us?!?! I said, “Nothing more than $10. That is the most you will give!”
Now Bryan tells me he won’t get to leave for his lunch hour tomorrow since they are having a “Birthday BBQ” for his boss. “Well, you’ll just have to miss our prenatal appointment tomorrow then…”
Bryan apologized all over himself this morning for not being able to make it to the appointment. I said, “I’m not mad at you. It just blows my mind that you’re paying him 10 bucks to miss your son’s, and my appointment tomorrow.”
What kind of boss can’t understand: “I think my family and our baby-to-be need the money, and we can’t really afford to give him anything right now?” How hard to undersand would that be, for the boss?!?! I know that here at the Journal during Thanksgiving and Christmas that they ask people if they want to give money to the company. Call me greedy but I’m not giving up my hard earned wages to a company worth millions… nay…. BILLIONS of dollars!
Am I wrong for how I think? Is it wrong to not give money to his boss for his birthday? All this for a man who can’t give out a Christmas bonus, or do anything for his employees on the holiday’s other than making them clean up human waste?!?!
10.6.05Technical Difficulties
Well I was having some trouble with the computer today, so if you were wondering why the blog wasn’t up. That would be it.
I had to buy a new power supply because the old one was about to go kaput. And then it somehow messed up the driver for my keyboard, so the keyboard was causing random restarts.
It should all be ironed out so we should be up and running full time again.
Creepy crawlies give me the creeps!
You know how if you aren’t a ‘dog’ person then dogs tend to LOVE you? The same with cats…they will gravitate to the one person in the room that can’t stand cats. Well, this is my new theory on spiders. I can’t stand them, am completely terrified by them and therefore, it’s my theory that every flipping spider in S.W. KS has moved into my house. We spray every couple of weeks, but no matter what– the damn things come back repeatedly. A while back we had made plans to take our cat, Fuzz, to a friend’s house for a weekend so we could all evacuate this eight-leggers vacation paradise with a bug bomb. However, she (the cat) is totally uncooperative in this scheme. She flunked kitty kindergarten cuz she doesn’t play well with others and would have killed Melonie’s cats.
So, here’s my question…how exactly does one get rid of spiders? (preferably without killing the cat)

Well, here I thought that the internet was all good to go. Who was I kidding? The thing still doesn’t work. Well, it works better than it did. We can at least have both hooked up at the same time now. But the internet connection just drops off sometime. Sometimes it’s 10 minutes, sometimes it’s an hour. Then it’s back working fine again.
I called the lovely tech support staff and they said that they were doing matainance in the neighborhood tonight and that it’d be running better than ever tomorrow….we’ll see about that.

What do you think of a boss sending an employee off to do personal stuff for them. My husband has been sent to mow his bosses lawn, wash and wax his truck, pick up his jet ski from the shop, even said one of the guys he works with was sent up to paint the bosses house!
I personally think this is rediculous! Not to mention degrading! However, someone I was chatting with about this said that, they thought it was wonderful and that they get a break from work to do other things. I thought, NO ONE likes to paint a house! NO ONE likes to mow their lawn, it’s not even their lawn, it’s their idiot bosses!
Yes they do get paid to do it, so I guess I shouldn’t bitch. Just seems like this boss is just a lazy, cheap bastard! To lazy to mow his own lawn, and can’t pay the neighbor boy $10 to do it.

ok this is the suck
iv been sick with sinus crud the last few days. the medicine im taking makes it very hard to operate a vehicle or heavy machinery. i tried calling friends yesturday to see if they would be as so kind to bring me food. WELL!! i pick the wrong weekend to be sick no one was here or answered their phones finally after about about 3 hours i was able to find some one online that was in hays. shanna drove up and took me to go get food. now i owe her one.
