Well, here I thought that the internet was all good to go. Who was I kidding? The thing still doesn’t work. Well, it works better than it did. We can at least have both hooked up at the same time now. But the internet connection just drops off sometime. Sometimes it’s 10 minutes, sometimes it’s an hour. Then it’s back working fine again.
I called the lovely tech support staff and they said that they were doing matainance in the neighborhood tonight and that it’d be running better than ever tomorrow….we’ll see about that.

What is it with Cox? Aren’t they pretty wide spread? I know they are in Dodge and around here, too. How’d they get so BIG if they provide such half-ass coverage?
Hope it’s up and running better today. Do you wonder what the next ‘hiccup’ in Cox service will be?

well from expierence since i have worked at a cable company *cough*UCOM*cough* when a company says they are upgrading it means, most of the time, they have no idea whats causing the problem, they are looking into it just dont know whats casuing the problem we use the same excuse at FHSU when the servers go down for some known reason. i know its a bad thing to tell ppl that we are upgrading when when arnt, but here at FHSU most of our users wont bother us if they know we are aware of a problem or if they think we are working on the servers they dont complain and just go about their business.
if our users know that we have a problem and arnt reassurned of somthing they keep calling and bothering our techs and then nothing gets done or fixed. like i said its wrong to do that, but its better to have our user think we are doing somthing that to not say anything and have them keep calling.

I see your point Biebs. But I’m in the position where the thing hasn’t worked right for two weeks straight. If I wake up in the morning and the thing works fine, I’m a happy man, and could care less whether they were blowing smoke up my ass.
But my patience has limits, especially as a paying customer. If the thing won’t work, I could still care less as to whether they’re lying. The end result is I’m not getting the service that I’m paying for.

If you bitch enough they will either: (A)Get tired of you calling everyday, and actually fix your problem, or (B)Give you something for free! Good luck, be persistant!

Well we might have fixed the problem by getting a new modem….if it works though the weekend I might believe it.

regardless, I had cox in Amarillo and it sucked!
The company I have here is so much better. Everyone here says it bites, but All I have to compare it to is Cox, so I say it Rox.
