Thank you, Matt! It’s GREAT to be back!

Ok, in all honesty I know about as much about computers as autos, or brain surgury….but this thing is AWESOME! When the wind was howling last Sunday I shut the computer down in case we lost electricity. The next morning I hit the button and went to grab some coffee. I walked back in here and it was up and ready to roll. That confused me (which shouldn’t surprise you guys that know and love me). As an experiment I decided to shut it down the next night just to see if it could boot up in the time it takes to get a cup of coffee. MAN! It is on and running in seconds! Getting online is like 10 times faster. It must communicate with the ucom modem faster? Heck, I don’t know if that is possible. I just know that what would take minutes on the old computer takes seconds on this one. Email is another thing…zip, zip, zip!

The virus scan is set and running. Good news…my first scan showed no virus problems! hee hee

Hey, look! Spare parts!

Well I got Mom’s new computer installed and up and running. So I took her old one home to spruce up to new. Just like it was in those sweet days of the year 2000. Turns out it really was Y2K compliant.

So I pull off the cover to discover 5 years of dust, but what to my wandering eyes should appear? But two hard drives! I didn’t remember putting another hard drive in here, but apparently I did. And why didn’t I take the old one out? Weird. So I wonder if the other hard drive is actually bad, since I can’t remember putting the new one in, I sure can’t remember why I would have. I guess I’ll try getting it to work, and if it does, I guess the machine will have two hard drives now.

Go figure.

windy cold days

ok why in the freakin’ world do ppl think that when there is ice on the road its ok to go the speed limit or faster??? i swear i was almost in an accident had it not been for my excellent driving skills and for it being extremely easy to put my car in to a drift slide on ice. i prolly wouldnt have a car right now becuse the jerk in this pick-up was going too fast, and intead on just downshifting into a lower gear he slammed on his breaks and started sliding even though he missed me. He slammed into the light pole in the parking lot. i pulled into a parking stall and got out to see if the guy was ok he was, however, he wont be opening his passenger side door anytime soon.

Un-freakin-believable

Proof of devine intervention. I don’t know how else to explain it.

I was heading to work yesterday an the roads in Manhattan are slick as…well, ice. Polished ice. And I notice that the traffic has come to a stop up ahead, and at the same time a fire truck is coming from behind. So I get over to the right, as does everyone else. Then after the fire truck passes, I get in the left lane to turn left and turn around in a parkinWHAM!. I get nailed in left rear corner by a little red Ford Escort. So I hobble into the parking lot thinking…”Well this had to happen sooner or later.” Thinking that the hooptie has seen it’s days.

So the girl that hit me, and I exchange information. Apparently we weren’t the only ones trading paint, because she said she called the cops and they were only taking emergency calls. So I head back to the car to look over the damage. Looks like the left rear blinker is busted out, but other than that, everything seems pretty cosmetic. So I get in the car, and drive on to work.

Later after work, I tested out all my lights. (I didn’t think to do that before I went to work. =P ) And come to find out, all the lights still work, just the plastic cover to the blinker broke. Now, not to say that you can’t tell I got schmacked. It’s a pretty big dent, but the car still drives, and all the lights work. It’s friggin street legal! So all I need to do is tape over the light so it doesn’t get too wet.

So so the Pontiac 6000 that was once in all its glory, continues to serve without fear, and without (too much) hesitation! Long live the hooptie!

Thanks for the awesome ride, Bill.

Well, I was heading home from work last night at about 11:20, when my phone rang. It was Jason Marsh. He tells me Bill Snyder will retire tomorrow. First off, I’m thinking, since he’s in Aggieville at the moment, this could just be a alcohol induced joke. So I took it with a grain of salt.

So I wasn’t entirely surprised when I woke up this morning to the news. This Saturday will be Bill Snyder’s last game coaching the Wildcats after 17 years as head coach. It’ll be a pretty emotional Saturday at KSU Stadium, which will soon be renamed “Bill Snyder Family Stadium.” I can’t wait to see how the stadium erupts in appreciation for everything he has done at K-State as he walks out of the locker room this weekend for Senior Day.

Getting Impatient…

Posted By:  Jamie

Matthew,

Your mother told me to post you a message and say, “Hurry it up with the computer!” She’s really starting to go through withdrawl. I’m sure it’s partially my fault though. I keep rubbing it in that she can’t use hers! I say, “Oh, you should really go check this site out…. WAIT, you can’t get on your computer. Ha ha!”

So, anyways, she’s anxiously waiting! See ya at Thanksgiving!
Love ya!

We suck again!

Heart and soul of the Chiefs running game, Priest Holmes, will no longer be playing football this season. Priest took a helmet to helmet hit two weeks ago against San Diego. Fox Sports online stated that he has bruised in his spinal canal, and will most likey retire as early as Wednesday (today). After that team doctors will re-evaluate him as to his playing status for future seasons.
