Need an opinion…

Posted by:  Jamie

What do you think of a boss sending an employee off to do personal stuff for them. My husband has been sent to mow his bosses lawn, wash and wax his truck, pick up his jet ski from the shop, even said one of the guys he works with was sent up to paint the bosses house!

I personally think this is rediculous! Not to mention degrading! However, someone I was chatting with about this said that, they thought it was wonderful and that they get a break from work to do other things. I thought, NO ONE likes to paint a house! NO ONE likes to mow their lawn, it’s not even their lawn, it’s their idiot bosses!

Yes they do get paid to do it, so I guess I shouldn’t bitch. Just seems like this boss is just a lazy, cheap bastard! To lazy to mow his own lawn, and can’t pay the neighbor boy $10 to do it.

You’re thoughts?

K-State request

If I send you moneys for tickets to a KState game can you pick up tickets? Duane is off on the 24th and we were hoping to go that weekend. If this is possible for you to do, give me the go and I’ll drop the money in the mail Tuesday. I just want public seating, think it said $35 a ticket.

I don’t recall who it was, but said they were headed up for this Saturday’s game. Told her to check out your tailgate party. It is the station’s put on, right? It’s been a long day and I talked to too many faces at lunch to retain their name.

Crazy old people!

Posted by: Jamie

This old man has been calling the Journal for the last week, wanting to put this ad in our paper. Well, he mailed it in and it got lost from there to here. Of course, that was our fault. He yelled at us, how he was a veteran and that he shouldn’t have to mail a letter more than once. Blah, blah, blah. So we finally got this certified letter from him. His ad is about what a liar President Bush is, and the Martha Stewart thing, and low wheat prices, and just a bunch of bull shit, to be honest. So the management here called him, and said, we’ll put your ad in the paper, but only on the condition that you have your name and phone number in there, so we (High Plains Journal) are in no way responsible for your opinions. Everytime he calls he just goes on and on and on about how he’s a veteran, and wheat prices are so low, and Golden Corral gives free meals to Veterans…. WHAT? What in the hell does Golden Corral have to do with ANYTHING? Sheesh! The more I deal with idiots like this, the more I love my cat!

Online. Seriously.

Well, it looks like this time it’s for real.Cox finally came by and ran a new line into the house. The cable works great, the internet works great. It’s all as it should have been five days ago. I guess I can start paying the bill now.

Hopefully I’ll get the FTP up tomorrow. I don’t think I have anything going on. I’d do it tonight, but meh. I’m feeling lazy. I think I’ll pass.

At least I can post on the blog from the comfort of my own home now.

Microsoft buys Teleo. Watch out Skype!

Story

Voice over IP looks to be a window to the future. In and of itself it’s not that impressive. But it is one step closer to all of your communications needs can be bundled into one package. No phone company, no cable company, all one.

As bandwidth is increased to households. The day isn’t far off that through one connection, your TV, your internet, your telephone, everything through one cable. One company, one bill. Will that company be Microsoft?

Hello brother! How is everything going? All is ok here. Mom is letting me use her blogger name. She told me to ask you for an invite. I didn’t know you had to invite people to your secret blog club! Oooo! :o)

Everything is going well here. Had a Dr. appointment yesterday for the baby. They were going to start letting me have every other week appointments instead of every week, but there were some problems this week. After next weeks appointment I get to go to Wichita to another Dr. there. Woo!

Well, I had better get back to work. We are short handed today. Talk to you later.

I don’t have to go to the bank to get cash anymore! :)

I know it sounds kinda korny, but I do not have to go to the bank to get money anymore. That’s right, I got my atm card (since they won’t let me have a check card) and my awesomely cool checks.

Yup, that’s right, they’re K-Sate checks! Notice the Wildcat logos on the left and right (they’re kinda hard to see, but they’re there!). I love ’em, I love ’em, I love ’em!

As you all know (or at least some of you), I am a K-Stater and I love it! I live it, breathe it, and will die for it! Hehe. K-State Football here I come! (Saturday, Sept. 3; kick-off @ 1:50pm against Florida International)
