Let there be lounge!
Well we got us a loveseat for the living room. Finally! You can still see the old canvas chair folded up in the corner (why the heck is that still in the room?). We went originally to go look for a full couch. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money though, and a lot of the stuff we were looking at was pretty pricy. To make matters worse, I really made it hard when I ruled out that microfiber/fake suade feeling stuff. That material drives me crazy. Apparently I’m the only one, but it just feels like tiny little velcro on my hands. This is similar material, but a lot more ‘fuzzy’ feeling.
It’s still weird sitting on a comfy… (I’m just gonna call it a couch) couch and watch a movie or playing the Wii. I’m so used to that squeaky uncomfortable canvas chair. All we’ve had is the one recliner since we moved is as our only real piece of furniture. But I think I’ll get used to it. Hehe.
My new toy
I finally got my laptop. Actually, they call it a netbook. They’re not made to do stuff that involves a lot of memory or graphics, just the normal checking your emails and stuff like that. Unless you want to try to get it to do all of that stuff.
It went down in price, so I broke down and bought it. Heck, when you’ve been watching something for a month and notice that the price dropped $100, you’re gonna get it right? Here’s a few pics of it.

Yup, she’s only got a 10″ screen. Not too bad, I actually really like it. I just mostly wanted it to be able to sit in the living room, watch tv and chat/surf at the same time.

Who designs these things?
Well, I had a Wal-Mart gift card I had to use, so I walked all over the store, and couldn’t find a single thing I actually wanted. Ended up just using the card to buy some groceries! Ha ha. I guess that’s a good sign, I already have a lot of stuff I want.
But with the money I saved on groceries, I decided I could pick up this cool little multi-tool.
I ordered it from rockynational.com and would recommend ordering from them to anyone else. I placed my order on Thursday, and it arrived in the mail on Saturday! That’s speedy service. The quality of the tool is as good as somthing the size of a couple nail trimmers can be. I wouldn’t go to town on a rusty old bolt with this, but it should come in handy in those situations where you wish you had a knife or a simple pair of plier.
But some of the features of this thing leave me puzzled. Who had the checklist for this thing? Granted, many of the tools are sure to come in quite handy. The knife, the screwdrivers, the bottle opener. But what kind of guy that’s looking for a nice all purpose tool, is going to be gung ho about the NAIL FILE and the TWEEZERS? Okay, I’ll give the tweezers a pass, as this could come in handy for the outdoorsman who happens to get a splinter. But a nail file? Really. “OH YAY. My utlity tool and manacure set finally arrived!” Such a waste of a slot on my multi-tool.

I was messing around on the internet today and did a Google image search for “1985 Toronado” (sans quotes) and my car is the first result! If you use the quotes it ends up like the 3rd result. LAME!
Nothing special. Just one of those “whoa” moments. Too bad it was from before the paint job.
01.19.08Yay! A day off!!
I woke up at 5 a.m. and almost rolled over and went back to sleep, but then I remembered… IT’S SATURDAY!!! A wonderful, glorious day off! THESE are my favorite days. Nothing on my schedule of events more strenuous than a little crossword puzzling or a bit of Rock Starring. These days don’t happen very often and I am going to enjoy it! I’ll probably be bored to death by one o’clock this afternoon and take a nap. Man!!! doesn’t that sounds AWESOME?! I Love It!!!!!!

How about some nostalgia?
One of the best damn games, best damn movie, best damn song, ever! I stumbled across this and it brought back a lot of good memories. Of course the GoldenEye Fests, but also sitting there for hours trying to beat the times on each level to unlock the cheats. Memorizing everything. Somewhere between Mario Kart and the IGA I lived and breathed GoldenEye, and to a lesser extent just Bond in general.
Not to mention the 15 days of 007 that TBS used to always run. I remember I’d set the computer up next to the TV and watch all the movies and play along with the trivia that they did live on the internet. You could chat with other people that were watching the movies just a really cool experience. It was leading up to the release of Tomorrow Never Dies in the theater and they were marketing the hell out of it. I remember it all plain as day. I was so juiced about it back then. Its one of those times in life you just wish you could go back and do all over again, ya know?

Here some pictures we snapped of the Toronado we saw for sale while we were down scoping out the wedding place. Creepy how close the colors are! When I painted my car, I never would have guessed there’d be another one out there almost the same color!
The one up front is an ’83 and was for sale. (Probably would have bought it if I had the cash!)
Not that my car is rare or anything, but just crazy to find one THAT similar!
11.5.07Yay, Me!
I looked through my notes that I had made on my scratch pad for last weekend. Sure enough, I had written down that the winery was open 10a.m. to 7 p.m. But, I thought I’d better check the website just to make sure. Yep, it was down as being open at 10a.m. to 7p.m. on Sundays!
Isn’t it odd how the mind can play tricks on us? Maybe you young people don’t notice it as much. But I honestly thought I had imagined the extended hours! It’s so nice to know I’m not losing my mind! haha

For the next few nights we’ll have a chance to see the Shuttle Atlantis and the International Space Station fly overhead. It’s supposed to be around 10:00pm here the next couple nights then earlier on Friday and Saturday. Hopefully the weather permits!

Last time I saw the Shuttle fly over I was a kid and it was at about 4 a.m. and freezing cold outside. The bright little spec streaked across the sky in a matter of seconds and it was over. Ha ha. This time around the two should be visible for ~2 minutes increasing to 4 minutes over the next few nights. I’m glad that there’s more inviting weather this time around too! So find a nice open patch of land and check it out!
