Our family is growing…
Bryson Edward Duncan was born at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 23rd. He weighed in at an even 8 pounds, just like Matt and Andrea’s other newborn nephew, Nikolas.

These are a few pictures of my new nephew. He was born on March 4, 2006 at 3:29pm. He was 8 pounds and 20 inches long. He is sooooo adorable!!!! It was just too bad that I couldn’t be there for his birth. But I will be able to see him in a couple of weeks. Yay for me!!!
The First 24!!
It’s been dang near a full day of non-smoking. I am chewing the heck outta this nicorette gum!!! John, Duane and I are all quitting together for the moral support. I gotta tell ya, working in a bar is going to be DAMN tough. At one time today I had 6 people in the bar with me, all smoking. That was a pretty good test for my first day!! I PASSED!!! They say the second day is worse….. Oh, great!!!

Countdown to a new me….
As of March 1st I am going to quit smoking. I went to see the doc yesterday and got a prescription of Wellbutrin, which is supposed to help with stress and nicotine withdrawl while quitting. I don’t think I want to slowly quit….limit # of cigarrettes a day…and the doc thought if I take this med and build the levels in my system for a few weeks, then cold turkey wouldn’t be such a problem. Duane has been taking it for several weeks already and I think he’ll quit when I do. Any words of encouragement, positive thoughts, wishes and prayers sure would be appreciated. But, seriously, how do people deal with stress if they don’t smoke? I get nervous and smoking calms my nerves. That is my biggest worry. Suggestions?

I just wanted to let you know that the baby shower is January the 28th from 2-4. You’ll be getting an inviation, but I wanted to let you know ahead of time in case you and Matt would be able to make it out that weekend!
If you can’t that’s fine. I know it’s kind of short notice, but just wanted to give you the “heads-up!”

I can finally quit my day job.
Because by golly I’ve got one.
I think pretty much everybody’s already in the know, but today I started my new job at work. I’m now the prestigious “Assistant Program Director/Music Director.” So I go work earlier, and get off earlier. That’s really the only big difference compared to what I’ve been doing. I’m still scheduling the music for 97.5. That’s almost fun. But if you’re ever heading through the area, I’m on 2p-6p Monday – Friday, instead of nights.
So there ya go!

Ok, in all honesty I know about as much about computers as autos, or brain surgury….but this thing is AWESOME! When the wind was howling last Sunday I shut the computer down in case we lost electricity. The next morning I hit the button and went to grab some coffee. I walked back in here and it was up and ready to roll. That confused me (which shouldn’t surprise you guys that know and love me). As an experiment I decided to shut it down the next night just to see if it could boot up in the time it takes to get a cup of coffee. MAN! It is on and running in seconds! Getting online is like 10 times faster. It must communicate with the ucom modem faster? Heck, I don’t know if that is possible. I just know that what would take minutes on the old computer takes seconds on this one. Email is another thing…zip, zip, zip!
The virus scan is set and running. Good news…my first scan showed no virus problems! hee hee
