a slice of life …
ok here is a bit of what going on in my life ….
last week i went camping on my vaction i returned to hays last weds. and i’ve been hangin out ever since friday i went to eat at Gella’s the new resturant here in Hays. It was good however there was an hour wait before we got seated. so we took a stroll down to the Semolino coffee shop where i had a strawberry smoothie and played speed ( a card game at which I really suck at).
after about 45 mins we headed back to Gella’s which we had to wait 15 more mins to get seated we were finally seated i must say even though the prices are a lil expensive the food is great.
Dinner was great after we were full we took the car through one of the automatic car washes. I love those things. After the car was clean we headed down to Wild West Fest where we went to go watch the Phil Vassar concert it was fun. He had sang about 4 songs when a storm decided to come in everybody was leaving NOT us! we stayed until the end we got soaked.
while the crew was putting up the electric equipment Phil was playing around on his piano and singing different stuff and signing autographs. out 5000 ppl think there was about 50 or 60 that stayed to the end. when we left the park we decided that on our way back to the car we had to jump in every puddle on the way back. Lots of fun! My shoes are still wet!
that about all thats gone on, but tune in next time for exciting conclusion to…. a slice of life!

iPod-Linux
haha what cant you put linux on
I dug this up.
Well I was going through my computer and ran across a bunch of poems I had written. Some of them I didn’t finish, and some weren’t so good. But I found a few I still liked and this is one of them.
I wrote this poem after I had broken up with Rachel, and before we had gotten back together. And I was watching how she lived her life, and she was always discouraged and never believed in herself. And having been at that point in my life before, I wrote my thoughts down and tried to portray a person who for one reason or another never decides to take hold of their life and make it their own:
It’s Yesterday Today
Watching time fall off the clock
Turning hours into minutes.
Years now I’ve spent in yesterday
Trying to decide if I regret it.
How will the future ever come,
If this moment’s in the past?
Yesterday’s consumed today,
And tomorrow’s next to last.
I’d rather think about the mistakes I’ve made
Than about the mistakes I’ll make.
I don’t want to be responsible,
For the choices that I make.
I’ll throw the dice and turn away,
Let the chips fall as they may.
Somehow I’ll find a way to deal with,
Whatever comes my way.
Today’s my second chance,
To redeem what’s gone awry.
But what if I just let it go
And cast it all aside.
It takes no pride to admit mistakes,
And I’ve got pride to lose.
The present cannot change the past,
But the future’s mine to choose.
I’d take control, I’d turn the tides,
I’m not worried about the fall.
My biggest fear in all my life,
Is I’m not good enough at all.
I’ll hide in the shadows of what could have been,
Because it’s harder to be seen.
Away from the eyes, the tears and the lies,
Away from all but me.

Did ya ever have one of those days….
where people seem to think they are the master of your destiny? I’m talking about the trivial to the not so trivial events and/or details?!?! And which is more frustrating…the attempt to alter the trivial details or the major ones? Dang! that is a hard question!!!! Well, just sharing a thought. I am going to go around and check with everyone to see if I can post this…ah, punt it! I’ll decide this one on my own….publishing now. And thanks for sharing my rant!
Oh where, oh where have the bloggers gone!?
Well, I know its been pretty slow on the blog here lately. But I have been a smidge busy with work, and remotes every weekend. I did get the radio working, record changer and all. But I think I’m going to go back and mess with the antenna circuit a bit to get better reception.
Got the deposit down for the apartment in Manhattan, so I will be moving there come August 1st. Gonna be pretty rockin. Andrea thinks we’re not having a house warming party, but I’m telling ya right now. You’re invited. 😉
I’ll be in the Ingalls/Cimarron area next weekend. I’ll be pretty booked Saturday. I’m going to be DJing Garf’s wedding. It’s alot of work but I’m looking forward to it. And I might be booked Sunday too. I want to swing by Dad’s place and see if Carrie has had my brother/sister yet. And then I’m pretty sure it’s grillin’ at Mom’s place.
So that’s my life for the next week or so. Still gonna be busy until then. And Country Stampede after that. Then I’m going to sleep all July.
