Proof that scientists don’t know jack.

Sorry about two space posts in one day, but I found this amusing. I find it perplexing how people can be furiously against creationism as a viable theory in where we all came from, when it’s evident that we know next to nothing about how the universe works, let alone how it was brought into exsistance.

This article was published on physorg.com about the Hubble telescope finding “mysterious blue stars” in our closest galaxy neighbor, Andromeda. You can read the whole article if you wish, but here’s a few quotes that illustrate my point:

“Astronomers are perplexed about how the pancake-shaped disk of stars could form so close to a giant black hole. In such a hostile environment, the black hole’s tidal forces should tear matter apart, making it difficult for gas and dust to collapse and form stars.”

Apparantly this isn’t the case.

“Seeing these stars is like watching a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat. You know it happened but you don’t know how it happened,” said Tod Lauer of the National Optical Astronomy Observatory in Tucson, Arizona”

Magic, that explains it.

“…the galaxy appears to have a double cluster of stars at its centre. This finding was a surprise, because two clusters should merge into one in only a few hundred thousand years.”

Check your stopwatch.

Now if you don’t want to believe that God created the universe from nothing that’s your perrogative. But don’t ask me for “PROOF” of my theory, when this is yours.

Faith. The End.

Back to the Moon

By the year 2018 man will once again return to the moon. Only this time, we’re going to stay. It’s all part of a long term plan to eventually send a crew to Mars.

At www.nasa.gov they outlined the plans for the spacecraft that would be doing all the work. And it’s crazy how much it looks like Apollo. They said they didn’t try to copy the Apollo program, they just designed from the ground up a system for getting man too the moon and back, and ended up with a solution very similar to what they devised in the 60’s.

I always said I was upset that I missed out on the moon shot days. I guess here’s my chance to really experience it.

Nintendo Revolution

A big day if you’re a Nintendo fan. They unvieled the controller for the system and it’s pretty impressive. Remember how back in the day with the original Super Mario Bros. you’d be lifting the controller up in the air when you tried to make Mario jump? Well now that really works.

You can use it for all kinds of stuff too. It can sense any motion, up down, back forth, even when you twist or turn the controller. Swing it like a bat, use it like a flashlight to light up dark areas of a room in a game. The possibilities really are limitless. Check out IGN Cube for all sorts of information and videos.

Online. Seriously.

Well, it looks like this time it’s for real.Cox finally came by and ran a new line into the house. The cable works great, the internet works great. It’s all as it should have been five days ago. I guess I can start paying the bill now.

Hopefully I’ll get the FTP up tomorrow. I don’t think I have anything going on. I’d do it tonight, but meh. I’m feeling lazy. I think I’ll pass.

At least I can post on the blog from the comfort of my own home now.

Microsoft buys Teleo. Watch out Skype!

Story

Voice over IP looks to be a window to the future. In and of itself it’s not that impressive. But it is one step closer to all of your communications needs can be bundled into one package. No phone company, no cable company, all one.

As bandwidth is increased to households. The day isn’t far off that through one connection, your TV, your internet, your telephone, everything through one cable. One company, one bill. Will that company be Microsoft?
