AM Radio rocks!
Would you believe that I’m listening to my formerly not working radio right now? Yep. loud and clear, all thanks to these little blue guys.

Sounds great if you ask me. But you be the judge. Hear me tune across the dial and tune in to Platinum Broadcasting’s very own 1420 Country KJCK!
Now all that’s left is to finish restoring the record changer. Check Bieb’s site for the latest updates!

Why Brasso Rules.
You ever up late at night. And see an infomercial for some miracle product that will take utter garbage and make it sparkly new again? Yeah, I always write those off as a crock of crap, which they probably are. Though I have found one product that I am utterly astounded by it’s effectiveness! (Good greif, now I sound like an infomercial).
I’d picked up some Brasso Metal Polish by reccomendation of a radio restoration website for restoring the bakelite (early plastic material) on my radio. And boy did it clear it up and make it shine like new. That alone was enough to make me swear by this stuff. But really unless you’d seen the radio before, you’d never know it did any good. But I now present to you the proof:
Before:

After:

Amazing! No? Sure it takes a little elbow grease, but this stuff is genius! Other than the fact I’ve probably fried a few brain cells from the fumes, this stuff is like a dream come true for my restoration project!
If there’s a metal you need cleaned (besides silver), GO BRASSO!

I was paid absolutly nothing, I swear!
05.12.05At times I feel lazy….
…I just think about my neighbor. He has an old Buick Century (basically the same as my car) and it’s had a flat tire for I don’t know how long. Well, ever since he moved in really. He used to air it up once a day. But eventually that got to be too much for him. And for at least the last three months, the car hasn’t moved an inch.
SOMEHOW in the process of just sitting there… ANOTHER tire went flat. (With tires you get what you pay for I guess.) So here sits this car, which is otherwise in decent shape, I’ve seen it drive at least, just parked in the parking outside my building.
Now I myself have picked up two used tires from a salvage yard for the bank breaking price of $35 dollars. Does my neighbor take this route? Why no. Instead, he jacks up one of the flat tires, so it’s not sitting on the rim. (Although the other tire still is, so I miss the point.) And two weeks go by. Then I notice he’s put the spare tire on the one flat, and has now jacked up the other flat tire. Another week and a half goes by, which brings us to today.
I notice that he has a whole new rim with what appears to be a fully inflated tire on the rim, propped up against the car, which is still jacked up with the flat tire, still on the car.
It’s my assumption that all this car needs is tires that will hold air. Now either this guy makes $0.25 cents a day and can’t afford even used tires, or he has something against doing more than five minutes of work a day. That or he’s going for the world record longest time to change two tires.
05.10.05just great
lately i havent been posting much on the blog thats been very positive and this one is not an exception. I found out that it looks like im going to have to close everyday this summer. bad starbucks. BAD!
So I have been studying hardkore for my skills test on wednesday. That obviously requires a visit to Starbucks (but then again, so does everything else for me).
But into my studying I trank 4 large (ventie(sp?)) drinks. And now my tummy hurts and I’m still up at 2 am.
THANKS STARBUCKS.
Waiting
Well, I was all worried about not being able to work on the radio over the weekend. Thought that it would drive me crazy. But really, I’ve done all that I can do until some parts arrive. So I was able to just kick it and relax with Andrea’s family.
You wouldn’t know, because she doesn’t seem to post here, but Andrea graduated from Cowley County Community College on Saturday! WOO HOO! She doesn’t think it’s much, but its a very visible step towards getting her bachelor’s and I’m proud of her.
So many of my friends are talking about finals and stuff that it reminds me of being in school. And how much I don’t miss any of it. And how much I don’t regret a day of quitting college. I’m doing what I love, have the talent I need to advance, and can find very little to complain about. Except that my damn capacitors won’t be here until WEDNESDAY! Dang it, I gotta see if this radio will work!
Matt, it’s your dear sis!

Hello, brother of mine. Hope everything is going well for you. I was just over at mom’s for mother’s day, and thought I’d leave you a blog. Work is going good for me. I work at Zales now. I have only been there since January and already am being promoted into a management program. So, that’s kinda cool. School is going alright. I am excited for the summer to be here, and for Carrie to have her baby. Well, my mind just went blank so I guess I’ll wrap this up. I’ll have to call you sometime. I think the last 10 times I’ve called you on accident. Ha ha. Sorry! Anyways, take care and have fun! Love ya!
