“I can make it on my own.”
Lil’ brudder takes another hit. After hitting a patch of ice and sliding over a curb on my way to work, I am now less one wheel. I debated getting a new wheel, as the old one was beyond repair. But the salvage yard didn’t have one, and all the tire place would sell me was a custom 14″ rim. (Appearanly he didn’t see what I was driving.) So I’m gonna ride the donut for a few weeks.
It’s getting closer and closer to new car time. I saw an ad for an ’80 Monte Carlo in the paper for $1500 which is looking like a better deal all the time. 😉
2.26 Ghz? Scew that!
Who overclocks a Celeron? Apparently I do. For lack of better things to do and sheer utter curiosity I decided to figure out how to overclock a processor. And seeing my laptop runs hot enough as it is, (that and I can’t figure out how to get into BIOS) I’m left with my new 2.26 Ghz Celeron on the desktop.
I wasn’t even sure if you could overclock a Celeron, but I’m here to say yes, you can. And fairly nicely as well. I upped her to 3.0 Ghz (2.97 Ghz to be exact) and I could have gone further, but my motherboard doesn’t seem to support some key options.
So the Celeron D processors are pretty spiffy indeed. I surely wouldn’t choose one over a P4, but this little guy was $56. And that price for a 3 Ghz isn’t bad now is it? There’s been word of the 2.4 Cel D’s being over clocked to 3.8 Ghz stable! All you need is the right motherboard. Which I may have to aquire. =)
02.3.05FTP-a-licious
I have the FTP up and running. You should all have gotten usernames and passwords and all that info. And I’m going to try to keep at least a 90% uptime on the server.
Transfer rates were awfully slow when I was testing the connection on my laptop, but I don’t know if that’s be cause both were originating from the same IP or what. So if you’re having touble with slow transfers, let me know and we’ll try to troubleshoot.
this is quite interesting indeed
i might have to file a few times =P
