It’s quiet around here!

Fuzz and I are spending a lot of quality time together. Duane took off for school a few days ago. His first couple of weeks is just prep time for taking the CDL learner’s permit test. If they don’t pass that they can’t take the class. Today was their first quiz. All this makes me glad I have the job I have. I don’t think I could restart schooling this late in life.

Speaking of my job…I served my first (known) DUI last week. When the lady came in and told me she’d gotten a DUI after drinking all the beer I had served her the day before I felt really bad. But, I gotta admit the guilt didn’t last long. Seriously, is it my fault? I don’t think so. Heck, I wasn’t even around when she’d gotten her three previous DUIs. After three, the fourth DUI is her own flippin’ fault.

So you’ve got the place to yourself eh? I’m sure it has it’s pluses and minuses. I know I enjoy having the place to myself once in a while.

And about that DUI, hell no it’s not your fault. You’re not the one that told her to get into a car and drive after she drank all that beer. And her FOURTH DUI? Don’t they eventually say, “Okay, maybe we shouldn’t let you drive anymore…EVER!”?

You’d think. Time will tell. I hear some cases are in the courts for years.

thats because some where the court system allowed ppl to have appeals to try and take away your punishment. i think that was one of the more stupid things this country has allowed to happen.

Well I was talking about this topic on the radio and asking how a person could even achieve 4 DUI’s. And the concensus was, like Biebs said, the legal system is as slow as Aunt Jemima syrup and just takes forever.

And one person said that the place that served that person is liable for up to $5,000! I was thinking WHAT!? They were saying that it’s the establishment and the waitress’s responsibility to cut a person off before they get too intoxicated to drive, and that if the person with the DUI wanted to, they could sue the bar or whatever.

I said, “Then how is Aggieville still in business!?”

If that is indeed a real law, I think it’s ridiculous. Yay America.
