Nintendo DS. Amazingly fabulous and wonderful I’m sure. Seems to me like just another notch on the Nintendo belt, though.

Maybe I have already turned into the “frugal mother” type, but explain to me how this object will enhance my life in ways that I feel I need to spend $150 to buy the thing. Will it rock my son to sleep at 3 a.m.? Will it change his diaper when it’s dirty?

Everyone seems to make a big to-do over “I have the new DS and you don’t!” Well, you know what… I have an extra $150 in my pocket to spend on something with a purpose, rather than mindless entertainment that will be “yesterday’s news” in a year or so.

Well it’s certianly not a necessity of life. Hence the reason I don’t have one yet. I have a few things higher on the list of priorities. If you were buying DS games instead of diapers for your kid. That would leave one scratching their head.

People just have different priorities for their money. I’m sure most people consider having a car payment just part of life. But driving a nice new car simply isn’t important to me (they’re all ugly anyway), so I’d rather buy something outright and never have a car payment. That’s alot more money I have every month that most schmoes don’t.

I just make sure I get all the bills paid, the gas tank full, food is stocked, save a lil’ bit, and if there’s anything left, I’ll have some fun.
