Your opinions, please….

What is the deal when a nintendo game either freezes while your playing or refuses to load in the first place? Can you clean the reader thingy (not to be using such technical jargon) or is it the game disk?

Well, I’d check the disc and make sure there’s not a big gooey smudge on the actual disc itself. If it looks fine, then I’d try other games. Play them for about the same amount of time you’d play the otherone to make it freeze, then play it a little longer than you think you’d need to. If it freezes to, then you know the problem is probably the Gamecube.

You can clean off the laser (which is a good idea anyway) by simple taking a Q-Tip wet with rubbing alcohol (not dripping wet) and gently swabbing the laser lense in a circular motion. Don’t scrub the thing, just ever so gently clean it off.

If that doesn’t work. The problem could be in the deep underpinnings of the Gamecube itself. Believe it or not Nintendo has some pretty good tech support. Just call the number on the front end of the disc cover.

Before you call, try to make a note of EXACTLY what it does when it messes up. I.E. what it says when a disc doesn’t load. Whether the screen freezes, or goes completely blank. They might fix your GameCube for free minus the cost of you shipping it to them.

If they won’t fix it for free. Let me know and I can always find a used one up here for pretty cheap these days.

    Good luck!
